Matt Hooker founded Avant-Garde Wealth Partners because he believes that financial planning can be life-affirming, freedom-generating, and – in a word – awesome.
Matt is a lifelong learner and a seasoned practitioner with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and an MS in Financial focusing on strategic leadership, value, and risk. Prior to focusing on financial services, Matt worked in a wide range of industries and finds that his breadth of experience helps him connect with his clients. His enthusiasm and delivery are anything but traditional. Still, his methodologies are built on the time-tested practice of creating comprehensive financial plans and proactively adjusting strategies as clients’ needs and expectations change.
Matt enjoys spending time with his family outside the office, including three children and a needy golden retriever. Matt enjoys speeding “legally” in his 203mph capable Hellcat Redeye muscle car on racetracks across the country when he has downtime.
Sara Fairlie
Business Office Manager
A customer service industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, Sara Fairlie knows that strong personal relationships are the key to providing an ideal client experience. Her career has afforded her the opportunity to work both in person and over the phone across several industries, including restaurants, retail, and finance. Sara enjoyed collaborating with clients and building authentic bonds with them and their families in each sector.
Sara is from Bellevue and now lives in Omaha with her husband, a blended family, and fur babies. She and her husband love to travel and are actively working towards a goal of visiting fun destinations in all 50 states. When she’s not on the road, Sara can be found exploring the local restaurant scene and catching plays and concerts at different venues around town.

I joined Avant-Garde Wealth Partners because I believe great advice should be innovative, personal, and a little unconventional—kind of like me. Whether we’re talking investments, retirement, or how to protect what matters most, I keep it real and keep it simple.
I live in Omaha with my wife, Olena, our three amazing kids—Lena, Julian, and Vlad—and our dog, Dolly, who definitely runs the house. These days, I’m more into podcasts than books, especially those about finance, UFOs, history, and the occasional wild conspiracy theory. I’ve also been known to take long road trips just to find a good diner or a weird roadside attraction.
